UK: The Crown Estate to launch tender for Morgan offshore wind site in the Irish Sea
The Crown Estate intends to launch a competitive tender process next month to bring the Morgan offshore wind site back to market, with a view to awarding it to a developer in late 2026. The site with the potential for up to 1.5GW in the Irish Sea was brought to market through Offshore Wind Leasing Round 4 in 2021 but development was discontinued in January 2026. -

Sweden: Bilfinger to deliver major district heating accumulator for E.ON in Sweden – reducing emissions by up to 50 percent
International industrial services provider Bilfinger has been awarded a contract by E.ON to deliver a large-scale district heating accumulator for the city of Malmö. With a height of approx. 70 meters and a storage capacity of around 2,400 MWh, the facility represents the largest single investment in district heating in the city in many years. -

Ireland: Net Zero Energy announces plans for a 600MW long-duration energy storage project in County Carlow using green hydrogen
Plans to develop a 600MW Long Duration Energy Storage (LDES) facility which will use excess renewable energy to generate green hydrogen to provide electricity have today been unveiled. Known as Rathrush Green Energy Park, the proposed site is located outside Rathoe in Co Carlow and is being developed by Irish firm, Net Zero Energy (NZE).
