Please quote Job Ref: DNC6147 Our client is working for a large Oil & Gas Operator. They now seek an experienced Contracts and Procurement Engineer to work in Houston, Texas for at least one year, most likely longer. You should have experience with contractual and commercial sections of Invitation to Tender documents together with input to Scope of Work and other sections of the ITT package; ability to perform commercial evaluation / contractual evaluation of tender proposals and formulate recommendations for contract award; have strong negotiating skills;; work closely with other departments including legal, insurance and technical; prepare contract documents taking into consideration qualification raised during the tendering process; have experience to follow on tasks after contract award such as managing all contractual and commercial matters including preparation of change orders, review and pricing of contractor claims for additional compensation; a willingness to participate in some overseas assignments and overseas business trips; be able to operate as part of a team; have experience on multi discipline offshore EPC projects; ideally have some deep water experience (although not essential), have more than fifteen years oil and gas experience in contracts and procurement. You will be responsible for implementing CP strategies to secure third party services and materials in compliance with schedule, quality requirements and on best commercial terms. Interact effectively with other Senior Contracts Engineers, Contracts Engineering and Contracts Assistants in the team and with other CP personnel on the project to implement a fully integrated CP strategy and CP plan for the entire project scope. Ensure that the approved HSE standards and Goal Zero policies are full incorporated in the process of contractor and supplier selection and in the subsequent work execution phases. Manage contracts and agreements in a proactive manner with the objective of minimising major claims and disputes. Ensure business ethics are maintained to the highest level and ensure compliance with the Group Statement of General Business Principles. This role will be on a contract basis, long term on a very negotiable rate.
