INDUSTRY OVERVIEW
Shale Gas is perceived as the new game changer for the gas industry having altered significantly the global energy supply market. Developments in the North American Shale gas industry are being eagerly followed globally as other countries explore the potential of their own unconventional resources and shale gas rocks. The opportunity to use natural gas as a source of energy: relying on its efficiency, reliability and low emission is treasured.
However, despite all the potential of Shale Gas resources there are still critical challenges such as: identifying to what extent shale gas production is viable, the technology availability, the environmental constraints and the pressing need to lower of exploration and production costs.
This course will address both the fiscal and economic impacts of shale gas projects not only in North America but across the globe. By using a computer spreadsheet participants will be able to identify the challenges, the opportunities and the strategies to lower the costs on shale gas projects and maximise their profitability.
