he L&G NTR Clean Power (Europe) Fund has successfully completed the acquisition of a minority stake in the East Anglia ONE offshore windfarm, alongside the Development Bank of Japan Inc. Situated 43km off the coast of Suffolk, England, the Fund’s stake has been purchased from Macquarie Asset Management. -

UK: Carbon capture and storage technology lands in the English Channel
The leading trade body Offshore Energies UK says a new carbon storage licence being offered in the English Channel is an innovative way to store greenhouse gas emissions from industrial emitters on the South Coast. The North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) has invited applications for an out of round CO2 storage licence in saline aquifers off the Isle of Wight. -

UK: Wood awarded North Sea decarbonisation project for TotalEnergies
Wood, a global leader in consulting and engineering, has been awarded a new decarbonisation contract by TotalEnergies to support flare gas recovery in the North Sea. The 23-month contract, part of the Elgin-Franklin Flare Gas Recovery System Project, follows Wood’s successful completion of a field study and front-end engineering design (FEED) and includes the coordination of operations, procurement and design aspects for the Elgin asset. -

Touchstone Exploration has reached an agreement with Trinity Exploration and Production on the terms of an all-share acquisition by which Touchstone will acquire all of the issued and to be issued ordinary share capital of Trinity. Trinity is a crude oil exploration, development and production company with onshore and offshore assets located solely in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. -

Brazil: Petrobras oil and natural gas production grows 3,7% in 12 months
Petrobras' average production of oil, NGL, and natural gas in the 1st quarter of 2024 (1Q24) reached 2,776 million barrels of oil equivalent per day, an increase of 3.7% compared to production in the same period of the previous year (1Q23). -

Australia: Ørsted secures licences to develop large-scale offshore wind projects in Australia
The Australian Government has announced that it has granted a feasibility licence for Ørsted’s first offshore wind project in Australia and intends to grant a licence for a second project, subject to consultation. With the licences, Ørsted aims to develop large-scale offshore wind farms off the coast of Gippsland, Victoria, to be operational in the early 2030s. -

AIM-listed UK Oil & Gas (UKOG) has appointed UK based oil and gas divestment and project marketing specialists, Envoi to facilitate the farmout of up to a 50% working interest in the Company's material 100% owned Loxley gas and hydrogen feedstock project. The farmout seeks to fully fund the planned Loxley-1 appraisal drilling and testing programme with the Company's share of costs being carried by the farminee or farminees. -

Norway leads the way in offering commercial CO2 storage
The Norwegian government is pursuing an active policy to facilitate socio-economically profitable storage of CO2 on the Norwegian continental shelf. Taiwan: UTEC strengthens presence in Taiwan’s offshore renewables market
UTEC, a brand in marine energy and infrastructure services company Acteon, has been awarded an offshore survey and positioning contract for the Taiwan Power Company (TPC) Phase 2 wind farm project offshore Taiwan. The contract further reinforces UTEC’s foothold in Taiwan building on its initial entry in 2019.
