US: Chevron announces its first solar-to-hydrogen production project in California’s Central Valley
Chevron New Energies, a division of Chevron U.S.A. Inc., has announced it is developing a 5-megawatt hydrogen production project in California’s Central Valley. The project aims to create lower carbon energy by utilizing solar power, land, and non-potable produced water from Chevron’s existing assets at the Lost Hills Oil Field in Kern County.

UK: Innova acquires 21.6MWp solar site in Bedworth, Warwickshire, from Industria Brand Energy
Innova has successfully acquired Bedworth Solar, a 21.6MWp renewable energy site, from Industria Brand Energy. The site, located a short distance away from Innova’s solar project at Tolldish Hall Farm, is fully consented and ready to be built. Expected commercial operation date is 2025.

Trinidad: Touchstone Exploration announces 2023 Y/E reserves
Touchstone Exploration has announced 2023 year-end reserves. Relative to year-end 2022 and after 2023 production, Touchstone increased gross proved developed producing (PDP) reserves by 180 percent to 13,547 Mboe. PDP reserves replaced 2023 annual production by 699 percent, reflecting Cascadura-1ST1 and Cascadura Deep-1 natural gas and associated liquids volumes that were brought online in 2023.

Singapore: TotalEnergies to supply Sembcorp with 0.8 Mtpa of LNG for 16 Years
TotalEnergies has signed a sale and purchase agreement (SPA) with Sembcorp Fuels, a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore-based Sembcorp Industries. The deal entails the delivery of up to 0.8 million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per annum (Mtpa) for a duration of sixteen years, commencing in 2027. The LNG will be sourced from TotalEnergies’ global portfolio.

US: BOEM extends public comment period on potential development of wind lease areas offshore New York and New Jersey
On Jan. 8, 2024, BOEM announced the availability of its Draft Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (Draft PEIS) for potential development of six wind lease areas offshore New York and New Jersey in an area known as the New York Bight. BOEM is extending the comment period until March 13 in response to requests from Tribal Nations and stakeholders.

Israel: Karish North and second gas export riser online and new GSPA signed
Energean reports that Karish North first gas was safely achieved on 22 February 2024. The Karish North production well is currently utilising the second gas export riser, the installation of which was completed in December 2023. The Energean Power FPSO now has four production wells in operation.

Norway: Wintershall Dea completes successful appraisal of the Adriana discovery
Wintershall Dea and its partners, Petoro, Aker BP, and PGNIG, have successfully completed an appraisal well on the Adriana gas and condensate discovery in the Norwegian Sea. Following the completion of the well, the estimated recoverable volumes for the Adriana discovery have been revised upwards to a new estimate of 28-43 million boe and subsea tie-back options under consideration.

Subsea 7 has announced fourth quarter and full year 2023 results. Subsea 7 closed 2023 with a strong operational performance in the fourth quarter, resulting in Adjusted EBITDA of $714 million for the year, up 28% on the prior year. After another year of active tendering, the Group secured $7.4 billion of high quality contract awards, taking its backlog to $10.6 billion, a year end level last seen in 2013.
