A leading Information Management Service Company is seeking a GeoFrame Data Management Specialist to undertake a 2D Seismic Clean Up project at an oil company client site in London.
The Company has a well-established excellent reputation for the delivery of Data and Information Management (IM) solutions covering a broad range of services from sub-surface application support to the management of physical commercial records.
They have unparalleled experience within the Oil and Gas Industry for the successful implementation, integration and support of large scale document management and collaboration solutions as well as the design of bespoke intranet and desktop based solutions for smaller teams and organisations. The primary responsibilities of this role will involve the QC, clean-up & repair of 2D Seismic SEG-Y data prior to loading to G&G applications such as Geoframe and Paradigm.
The role will require a structured approach to data management and problem solving and interaction with asset staff to understand and assess data requirements.
Responsibilities: Working at the client’s premises as part of a project team and reporting to the Reporting to the Geosciences Manager, the successful candidates will support the current team and be involved in the following activities:
-Verifying that project data meets quality criteria and carrying out periodic checks on the completeness, validity and quality of the data within the project data store.
-identifying issues such as duplicates, bad navigation and incorrectly located lines and tasking the necessary remedial action
-Strive to ensure that services are provided in accordance with existing service level agreements and quality criteria defined by the client.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a background in the Earth Sciences and a good knowledge of seismic data quality issues as well as the GeoFrame application to become part of a well regarded, expanding Information and Knowledge Management Services Company within the Oil and Gas industry.
Preferences: The key requirements for this role are a good understanding of geoscience data types and formats, along with enthusiasm, flexibility, willingness to learn and a commitment to success. Specifically, the successful candidate will have:
-Degree in Geology or Earth Science preferred but not essential
-Good understanding of seismic data formats in particular 2D and data workflows essential.
-At least 1 years experience QCing & repairing of 2D seismic data prior to loading essential.
-Good experience in using the GeoFrame application, including IESX, from a data management perspective.
-Familiarity with Unix/Linux and Windows networks essential, knowledge of backup/restore procedures advantageous
-Must be both a good team player and at the same time self-motivated and capable of working unsupervised.
-Proactive approach in ensuring data is available and accessible to end-users on time and in a professional manner.
-Good problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
