A leading international petroleum consulting and technology company is seeking a Business Development/Operational Manager to drive business and manage the service delivery for all information management services in the Eurasia Pacific region. You will have P&L responsibility for a $10 million (USD) service driven business.

The Company’s Information Management solutions, spans exploration, production and drilling at both strategic and operational levels and includes a) data storage/management and distribution, b) application hosting, c) infrastructure delivery and d) data workflow analysis and delivery.

Their master data store hosting and data management solution is well established in the region and has huge potential for future growth. It manages bulk seismic, well, production and other technical information at a corporate, regional or national level for rapid distribution to a network of clients. Solutions are delivered onsite at the clients’ offices or remotely, enabling an oil company to manage their entire E&P process lifecycle from anywhere in the world.

With a strong understanding of the information management challenges facing the oil industry and the understanding and vision to promote solutions, your responsibility will be to increase market share in the region by driving new business opportunities and by strengthening the Company’s existing reputation for excellent delivery of digital information services.

This regional role is supported by service delivery managers, sales account managers and an experienced team of technical consultants, competent in the delivery of the IM solutions on offer. You will have responsibility for coordinating approximately 60 technical consultants in the region

The role is based in Kuala Lumpur and will require a significant amount of travel (circa 50%) within Asia Pacific and Australia and some to Russia, and throughout CIS. The Asia Pacific travel is currently undertaken during the working week.

Responsibilities: Reporting functionally to the Regional General Manager in KL and operationally to Manager of Digital Infrastructure Eastern Hemisphere (based in the UK), the primary aspects of your role will be:
· P&L responsibility (circa $10m) for all data and digital information related services within the region.
· Drive and close new business (estimated 60% of time) across the region, within existing named accounts and new accounts.
· Manage the sales pipeline and the cost of sales closely, to realize projected revenues.
· Work closely with the sales account managers in the region; devise strategies, business plans and successful tenders to maximize the potential for IM business.
· Work closely with the service delivery managers, to develop and implement best practice service delivery to client.
· Establish strong relationships with the major oil companies and actively liaise with them, presenting and promoting the vision for effective IM solutions.
· Understand your client’s business needs, workflows/practices, technical requirements, constraints, challenges and budgets.
· Become knowledgeable in the Company’s portfolio of products and consultancy services. Full training provided.
· Provide monthly revenue forecasts.
· Functionally manage approximately 60 technical consultants involved in the delivery of IM solutions in the EP region.
· Accountable successful writing of tender proposals.
· Delivery of technical and sales presentations at client sites, professional society meetings, and Trade Shows.

Preferences: The successful candidate will have:
· Proven sales and business development experience, essential.
· At least 10 years background in some aspect of Data/Information Management within the Exploration and Production sector.
· Highly articulate on the subject of data/information management. Confident to present and sell the solution at senior level management.
· The ability to understand the challenges in the current oil and gas market and to project solutions effectively. Must be able to think laterally.
· Highly proactive approach to identifying business opportunities and developing sales.
· P&L accountability and high financial acumen advantageous.
· Proven record of project development and delivery.
· Excellent client-facing skills with the ability to communicate and understand the technical requirements of potential clients
· Good project management skills working to exacting deadlines and times scales.
· Strong tendering/proposal writing capabilities.
· Self-motivated, proactive and driven by success
· Competent to work independently with the minimum of supervision
· A dynamic and innovative individual with the ability to find solutions to closing business deals.
