A leading Industry E&P Software and Services Company, providing subsurface information solutions to the oil and gas industry worldwide seeks a Application Support Geoscientist to provide customer support, training and consultancy on the Company’s interpretation suite of software to clients throughout the EA region. This role is open to candidates with at least 3 years industry experience.

The Company provides leading integrated geoscience and engineering software and associated services for prospect generation and evaluation, enabling oil operator clients to proceed with less uncertainty and more confidence in their exploration and production activities. They have a global network of sales, services and user support from 25 offices in 22 countries, serving all major oil and gas producing provinces in the world.

With an academic background in interpretation geoscience, your primary responsibility will be to provide front line support for the Company’s interpretation suite of software to the Company’s wider client base from the Aberdeen office and onsite at client’s local offices.

Job Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Team Lead of Interpretation, you will undertake the following:
-Protect PCS revenue stream through accurate and timely responses to customer’s requests for assistance via the support helpdesk.
-Skilled in UNIX and Linux operating environments
-Provide quality product consulting and help grow business by demonstrating the real value of the service delivered.
-Develop individual technical skills to ensure good working knowledge of all products in the suite.
-Develop individual soft skills to enhance service delivery (Presentation skills, Phone etiquette)
-Ensure support processes are adhered to, provide quality documentation of all support incidents in call tracking tool
-Ensure a high level of satisfaction is maintained throughout service delivery; provide workflow assistance to the client as required.
-Deliver front-line application support, ensuring problems are escalated appropriately and resolved effectively.
-When requested, deliver in house and on site quality product training that ensures correct product usage and demonstrates value in investment.

Candidate Requirements: Preferences: The successful candidate will have:

-A recent geophysical Degree or a related Geoscience discipline essential.
-Masters degree in Geophysics desirable
-Four years experience in interpretation and mapping of seismic and well data in an workstation environment
-Minimum 3 years industry experience with either an Oil Field Service company or Oil company.
-Prior experience in basin analysis, well planning and log analysis
-Advanced interpretation and visualisation advantageous
-Previous experience in an exploration or production environment
-Ability to match Company’s technical solutions to client business needs
-Proficient with Linux / Unix workstations and System administration.
-Good working knowledge of at least two core products within the solution set, or strong working knowledge of a competitive product
-Strong desire to advance your technical knowledge of leading edge products
-Desire to develop individual soft skills to enhance service delivery. (including phone etiquette, written and verbal communication skills)
-Excellent communications skills with the ability to listen accurately and articulate clearly in the English language to convey effective and accurate support to the Client.
-Good problem solving, trouble-shooting and deductive reasoning/analytical skills.
-Personable with the ability to work within a high performance team.
-Must be service orientated with a focus on delivering projects in a timely and professional manner.
