Fast-growing independent oil & gas exploration and production company with an international focus. In less than 5 years they have established themselves as a significant oil & gas producer with a diversified portfolio of exploration, development and production assets in a number of different countries.
Working closely with the commercial management team, the Senior Analyst will enjoy a varied role supporting corporate finance and investor relations activities as well as getting involved in business development and acquisition and divestment projects. A key responsibility will be to help manage and develop the Company’s relations with the City ensuring that clear and effective lines of communication are maintained at all times with brokers and analysts.
More specifically, the role will encompass:
• Modelling - maintaining and building the corporate model (covering capex/opex costs, production revenue/exploration costs, oil price/gas price)
• Valuation & financial analysis - utilising, for example, DCF, NPV, IRR methodology
• Investor relations – understanding & monitoring economic models used by City broking firms; ensuring that there is a consistent and accurate consensus of opinion on the Company's perceived corporate performance
• Preparing material for and assisting with presentations at investor events
• Undertaking corporate benchmarking and ranking exercises
• Undertaking competitor and industry research in support of business development/A&D activities

Experience:
We are interested to consider graduates in a relevant discipline (economics, finance, geoscience or engineering) with c. 3-5 years’ upstream industry-focussed experience having the following profile:
• demonstrable skills in the operation (and, ideally, the construction) of economic, cash flow and P&L models
• a thorough understanding of different valuation methods (DCF, NPV, IRR…)
• a sound knowledge of the upstream oil & gas sector including an appreciation of the key strategic drivers of an e & p business coupled with an awareness of the technical factors that influence valuation and strategy
• familiarity with a range of upstream oil and gas industry fiscal terms and regulatory frameworks (e.g. PSCs, Royalty concession)
• strong verbal and written communication skills – including the ability to make effective presentations.
