Norway: Equinor given consent to drill a sidetrack in exploration well 35/11-23 in the North Sea

Norway's Petroleum Safety Authority has given Equinor consent to drill a sidetrack in exploration well 35/11-23 in production licence PL 090 in the North Sea. The well is being drilled to test a prospect named of 'Echino Sør'.

The geographical coordinates are: 61° 01' 14.70" N  03° 27' 49.21" E. Water depth at the site is 352 metres.

The well will be drilled using the Deepsea Atlantic mobile drilling facility, which is owned and operated by Odfjell Drilling.

Deepsea Atlantic is a semi-submersible drilling facility of the MODU GVA 7500 type. It was built at the DSME shipyard in South Korea and was completed in 2009. Deepsea Atlantic was issued with an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) by the PSA in July 2009.
