Goldwind has secured a new 6.8MW order for a self-consumption project in Turkey. The contract includes the supply, transportation and installation of 2 units of GW 140–3.4MW wind turbine that will be installed in Bandirma, northwest of the country, in addition to a full service agreement for a period of 20 years.
This deal is from a Turkish local customer with operation of multiple business. Its steel mill and agriculture business will be powered by the electricity from this wind project once it is completed.
Now the foundation parts of the project are starting transportation to Turkey in batches and all will arrive to site in May. The whole project is aimed to achieve commission within the last quarter of 2020.
At the meantime, this project is the largest unlicensed self-consumption project in Turkey, which will set up a benchmark case for Goldwind, and bring more market opportunities.
Till the end of 2019, Goldwind already has 750kW, 1.5MW and 3.4MW wind turbines operating in Turkey, with an average availability of more than 99%. Now Goldwind is winning more and more customers’ attention and recognition and expecting a big potential in the year 2020!
