Mexico: Harbour appointed operator of the Zama project in Mexico
Harbour Energy announced December 31 2025 it has been appointed operator of the Zama oil project offshore Mexico. The Zama oil field, discovered in 2017 and successfully appraised in 2018 and 2019, is estimated to contain approx. 750 mmboe of gross recoverable resources. -

US: Empire to file preliminary injunction against lease suspension order
Empire Offshore Wind filed a civil suit (December 22) in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia challenging the U.S. Department of the Interior’s order directing a suspension to the Empire Wind project. As part of that case, Empire plans to seek a preliminary injunction and allow construction to continue while the litigation proceeds. -

Brazil: Petrobras starts production at Búzios 6
Petrobras began oil production from the P-78 floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel in the Búzios field, in the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin on December 31st. Búzios 6 (P-78) has the capacity to produce 180,000 barrels of oil and 7.2 million m³ of gas per day.
