bp and Mauritania to explore green hydrogen at scale
bp has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Mauritania under which it will deliver an innovative programme exploring the potential for large-scale production of green hydrogen in the country. The MoU was signed in a meeting alongside COP27.

Mauritania through the Ministry of Petroleum, Mines & Energy and Chariot, the Africa-focused transitional energy group, have announced that the Pre-Feasibility Study for the large green hydrogen project 'Project Nour' in Mauritania has been completed and a Framework Agreement has been signed, mapping out the next phases of development.
