BW ESS and Nordea Bank sign largest ever battery storage financing in the Nordics BW ESS has secured a SEK 628m green loan agreement with Nordea Bank for its 211MW/211MWh portfolio of operational battery storage assets in Sweden, owned in partnership with Ingrid Capacity. The transaction is BW ESS’ first external financing and understood to be the largest battery energy storage system (BESS) financing in the Nordics to date. |

The wind farm is located in Sundsvall and Timrå municipalities in northern Sweden (SE2). Eolus and Hydro Rein acquired the project jointly from Enercon in June 2021. |

Sweden: Suomen Voima and Statkraft sign first PPA in Sweden Suomen Voima and Statkraft have signed a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA), effective as of January 2025. The contract corresponds to an estimated annual volume of 100 GWh, produced in the Nedre Bjurfors hydropower plant and the Björkhöjden wind farm. Both plants are owned and operated by Statkraft and are in the Swedish bidding area SE2, making this deal Suomen Voima’s first on Swedish ground. |
