Cooper Energy has announced its intention to change the Company’s name to Amplitude Energy. A special resolution to approve the name change will be put to shareholders at the Company’s AGM on 7 November 2024. If approved at the AGM, the name change will be effective from the date that ASIC updates its register to reflect the new name and the associated corporate branding changes will also become effective from that time. 'AEL' has been reserved as the proposed ASX code should the name change be approved.
Managing Director and CEO Jane Norman said 'Over the last 12 months, we have embarked on a journey to refresh the organisational direction, transform our performance and reset our culture. In FY24 we launched our new Vision, Strategy, Purpose and Values and today I’m excited to announce our proposed new company name and brand – Amplitude Energy Limited.
'Amplitude is an industry term used to measure the resource potential of a new gas opportunity. The word amplitude also refers to reaching maximum potential. The new name aligns with our strategy to leverage our unique infrastructure position to grow in both value and volume.
'Our proposed name change recognises the transformation of our business, from our legacy as a Cooper Basin focused, non-operated oil producer, to a dedicated domestic gas explorer, producer and operator, focused on developing Australian gas for Australians and proudly playing our role in the energy transition.
