
Georgina Energy, a helium, hydrogen and natural gas exploration and development company with strategic permits in Australia, has provided an update on its project status of the Mt Winter subsalt helium, hydrogen and hydrocarbons prospect in onshore Australia.
The Georgina technical and operations team will be attending site from 18-23 October accessing from Alice Springs via the Mereenie oil and gas field. The inspection will include road access, the proposed prospect re-entry site, the existing airstrip as well as the layout of the proposed seismic program.
The inspections and reporting will include both civil engineering requirements as well as a preliminary Environmental Impact Statement (“EIS”) for the area which has been subject to previous extensive seismic as well as three drilling sites.
Highlights Mt Winter
- Approvals for preliminary site inspections currently under way with civil engineering access and site evaluation planned to commence 18 October 2026.
- ALRA (Aboriginal Land Rights Act) terms have been agreed by all parties.
- CLC (Central Land Council) and Traditional Owners approval meetings and discussions are progressing with a final formal authorisation meeting planned for mid-November.
- Settlement arrangements for the 100% acquisition of EP155 are underway; with settlement with Mosman Oil & Gas (now Quantum Helium) to complete following grant of the tenement by the Northern Territory Minister Mines and Energy.
- The Company will be expediting the prospect re-entry and development program for the highly prospective Mt Winter project with, inter alia, 2U/P50 Prospective of 234 BCF helium, 214 BCF hydrogen and 1.7 TCF gas.
- Seismic approval process is anticipated to be completed shortly.
- Drilling contractors have been contacted with initial discussions undertaken with Ensign Energy Drilling and other contractors.
