SOCAR and SLB have signed an agreement to accelerate the redevelopment of the Bahar and Gum Deniz fields in the Caspian Sea.
This partnership envisages the identification of promising production zones, the development of comprehensive reservoir modeling, and the design of well and drilling rig programs to support the Early Production Scheme (EPS) at these fields.
The project will play an important role in SOCAR’s long-term strategy to increase oil production and extend the operational life of mature offshore assets. This initiative aims to develop practical development scenarios that will accelerate production while ensuring operational efficiency and sustainability.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, SOCAR’s Vice President for Development and Production Operations Segment Babek Huseynov highlighted the successful cooperation between SOCAR and SLB. He noted that the project represents an important step in optimizing production at mature fields through the application of advanced methods and expressed confidence that it would lay the technical foundation for the next stages of the redevelopment of the Bahar and Gum Deniz fields.
