The platform will be dismantled at the Rio Grande shipyard (RS) following global industry standards
The P-33 platform began sailing this Thursday, July 23rd, towards the Rio Grande shipyard , where it will undergo a sustainable recycling process for the company's vessels. The platform had been docked at the Port of Açu , located in São João da Barra (RJ), since February 2024. Petrobras is monitoring all stages of the dismantling plan to ensure compliance with the best ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) practices in the global industry.
The platform was sold in 2023 to Gerdau SA , in partnership with the Ecovix Group , operator of the Rio Grande Shipyard. The P-33 will occupy the space previously designated for the P-32, Petrobras' first floating production unit to follow the Sustainable Recycling policy implemented by the company, focusing on sustainability, value creation, safety, and respect for the environment and people.
By 2030, Petrobras' Strategic Plan foresees the decommissioning of 18 platforms , including seven fixed platforms and 11 floating units.
