Petrobras reports that the FPSO Almirante Tamandaré, which operates in the Búzios field, in the pre-salt Santos Basin, reached an instantaneous record flow equivalent to 270,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd) last Saturday (10/25). On average, the platform's production exceeds 250,000 bpd throughout the month of October, representing a volume above its nominal capacity of 225,000 bpd.
The platform project, chartered to SBM Offshore, already includes margins that allow production of up to 270,000 bpd to be achieved at certain times, without the need for construction work.
This initiative is part of a series of actions the company has implemented to increase production through efficiency gains. All of these actions follow strict safety protocols and are preceded by careful engineering analyses and the necessary approvals from regulatory agencies.
Búzios Field
The FPSO Almirante Tamandaré is part of the Búzios 7 Project , the sixth Búzios system to come online, and will contribute to the field's production of 1 million barrels of oil per day by the end of this year. It is expected to soon become Petrobras' largest production field.

The Búzios 7 project, which in addition to the Almirante Tamandaré platform, includes all subsea infrastructure, such as pipelines and wells, will receive this week the OTC Brasil Distinguished Achievement Award for Companies, from the Offshore Technology Conference, one of the most important global technology events focused on the offshore oil and gas sector.
