Shearwater Geoservices has announced the third season of multi-client 3D seismic data acquisition in Pelotas Basin offshore Brazil. Building on the success of the previous Pelotas Basin campaigns, the survey will be conducted in partnership with Searcher Seismic, with solid industry funding.
SW Empress, recognized as a resilient and efficient seismic vessel, will conduct the survey. Its proven track record of operations in the Pelotas-area ensures timely delivery of the expanded Pelotas Basin library, which covers more than 10,000 sq km of wide tow 3D seismic. The survey is expected to be completed early Q2 2026.
Irene Waage Basili, CEO of Shearwater, commented: 'We continue to expand our multi-client market position through disciplined investments in cooperation with partners and the E&P industry. The Pelotas Basin success demonstrates the complementary strengths of Shearwater and Searcher Seismic, where we together will acquire more high-quality data in one of the world’s most promising exploration regions. This upcoming third acquisition season is a great opportunity to further build on this strong foundation.'
