TGS, a leading global provider of energy data and intelligence, has announced the launch of advanced imaging centers for Petrobras, Brazil’s energy powerhouse, dedicated to Ocean Bottom Node (OBN) and 4D imaging for the Campos and Santos basins.
These cutting-edge facilities will leverage TGS’ industry-leading imaging solutions, utilizing both on-premises and cloud-based hardware to process data with unparalleled precision. Geoscientists from both companies will collaborate at Petrobras’s Rio de Janeiro offices to leverage this synergy.

At the core of this initiative is TGS’ 4D Full Waveform Inversion (FWI) technology, providing enhanced subsurface clarity for reservoir monitoring and characterization. The imaging centers will also integrate hybrid 4D solutions combining Streamer and OBN, as well as OBC and OBN data, for a comprehensive subsurface view. These advancements aim to support Petrobras in optimizing exploration strategies, improving production performance and maximizing resource recovery in Brazil’s offshore basins.
The launch of these imaging centers marks a strategic approach to addressing the challenges of Brazil’s offshore oil and gas industry. By combining advanced imaging techniques with a focus on customer needs, TGS and Petrobras are advancing more sustainable energy development in Brazil.
