Eni Congo has officially inaugurated its new Yasika logistics platform, located in the heart of Saipem’s base, in the presence of the Congolese Minister of Hydrocarbons and the Managing Director of Eni Congo.

Yasika, which means 'new beginning' in Lingala local language, embodies Eni’s ambition to build a modern, sustainable energy future rooted in operational excellence. As the neuralgic center of all Eni Congo operations, the base ensures the efficient transit of equipment, materials, and personnel to onshore and offshore facilities, while meeting the highest standards in safety, environmental protection, and quality.

A driver of national energy performance

The Yasika logistics platform holds a strategic position within the Congo LNG project, contributing to the development of the gas potential of the Marine XII permit. It supports operations for the two floating liquefaction units: Tango FLNG (0.6 MTPA), which began production in December 2023, and Nguya FLNG (2.4 MTPA), scheduled to start up production by the end of 2025. Yasika plays a key role in the construction of new installations, interconnection of existing infrastructures, and modernization of strategic facilities, such as the Litchendjili plant.

A cutting-edge logistics infrastructure

Designed to optimize the entire logistics supply chain, Yasika is built on modern infrastructure conceived to meet the growing needs of Congo’s gas industry. Key technical features of the base include:

  • A total surface area of nearly 190,000 m²
  • A 285-meter-long quay
  • 1,000 m² of office space
  • 16,000 m² of covered areas and technical workshops
  • A dedicated jetty for marine transport rotations
  • A treatment unit for muds and cements for drilling activities, covering an area of 1,100 m²

A strong commitment to local content

One of Yasika’s flagship projects is the local fabrication of Midwater Arch structures (MWA1 and MWA2), essential components for hydrocarbon transport within Congo LNG project. This work, entirely carried out in the Republic of the Congo, pursues a dual objective:

  • To enhance the skills of the Congolese workforce
  • To strengthen the national industrial fabric by integrating local suppliers into global-scale projects

With this initiative, Eni Congo reaffirms its commitment to inclusive development, based on knowledge transfer and the creation of skilled jobs.
