Petroleum Marine Services (PMS) has completed installation of the WEB Offshore Platform as part of the West El Burullus Gas Field Development Project in Idku
As part of its vital role in supporting and executing key projects in the petroleum sector and in alignment with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ strategic focus on maximizing production , Petroleum Marine Services (PMS) has successfully completed a major milestone in the West El Burullus Offshore Gas Field Development Project, operated by West El-Burullus Petroleum Company (PetroWeb).

The company completed the installation of the WEB Offshore platform using its massive marine unit, barge PMS 12 and several specialized supported vessels.
The work was carried out in record time with exceptional operational efficiency, demonstrating PMS’s advanced capabilities in offshore construction and services.
The scope of work included , Installation of the jacket, weighing 345 tons, followed by the installation of the deck, with a total weight of 431 tons.
Both components were installed using state-of-the-art marine lifting equipment aboard Barge 12, one of the largest and most capable marine units operating in the Middle East.
All operations were completed according to the highest international standards of safety and quality, with full adherence to the project’s timeline.
This achievement represents another milestone in a series of successful contributions by PMS to major national projects.
Additionally, PMS recently completed the laying of an 8-inch subsea pipeline for the same project using PMS 11, another advanced marine unit designed specifically for subsea pipeline laying and platform installation.
Work on the project continues, with the next phase including, subsea laying of a 14-inch pipeline, with total length 32 kilometers and Preparations for the installation of a second offshore platform, PAPYRUS, one of the primary platforms planned to expand production in the West El -Burullus offshore area in Idku.
This accomplishment highlights PMS’s qualitative advancement in operational performance and its firm commitment to enhancing Egypt’s petroleum production capabilities supporting national goals to secure energy resources and optimize the use of natural gas fields to boost the economy.
Over recent years, PMS has established itself as a leading national contractor, capable of executing large-scale offshore operations while overcoming technical and environmental challenges.
The company consistently maintains international benchmarks in quality, efficiency, and safety.
This is reflected in PMS’s active involvement in major national projects across both the Red Sea and the Mediterranean, including its significant contributions to the development of giant gas fields most notably Phases 10 and 11 of the West Delta Deep Marine (WDDM) Gas Field Development.
