TGS has announced the deployment of its PowerView™ digital platform for the Obelisk hybrid solar and battery project developed by Scatec in Egypt. This solution enables unified monitoring and operational intelligence across solar generation and energy storage assets at the large-scale renewable facility.
The Obelisk facility, being built in two phases, combines 1,125 MWp of solar PV capacity with a 100 MW / 200 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS), creating one of the largest hybrid renewable energy projects in the region. The integrated architecture enables solar generation and energy storage to operate together as a single system, supporting grid stability and more flexible energy delivery.
Through the PowerView platform, TGS Prediktor provides a unified digital environment for monitoring and optimizing both the solar plant and battery system. The solution brings together plant equipment, operational data and analytics in a single interface, giving operators real-time visibility across the hybrid facility.
PowerView also connects the site to Scatec’s Global Operations Centre, enabling remote oversight and performance analysis. Designed for hybrid renewable projects, the platform supports coordinated monitoring of solar generation, battery storage and grid interaction through one operational system.
'Hybrid renewable projects are becoming increasingly important as energy systems integrate more variable generation,' said Will Ashby, EVP Business Development at TGS. 'With PowerView, we provide operators with the digital foundation to manage solar and storage assets as a single coordinated system, helping ensure reliable operations and optimized performance at scale.'
The Obelisk project builds on the ongoing collaboration between TGS Prediktor and Scatec to deliver digital infrastructure for large-scale renewable energy assets globally.
PowerView is part of TGS’s growing portfolio of digital solutions supporting renewable and hybrid energy projects worldwide.
