Exploration in Equatorial Guinea has delivered multiple successes across the region, including the Zafiro, Asen/Aleng, and Ceiba/Okume fields. Yet, the Rio Muni basin remains largely underexplored, despite its excellent geological promise.
To address this, Geoex MCG, in partnership with Perceptum, DUG Technology and the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Mining Development (MHMD), launched a comprehensive reprocessing campaign covering over 9,600 sq km in the Rio Muni basin. The reprocessing is currently underway with final products expected Q4 2026.

This initiative will provide interpreters with modern data and an unparalleled insight into the prospectivity by utilising Full Waveform Inversion (FWI) workflows to significantly enhance the imaging quality.
By tying the L-1 and L-2 wells for velocity and depth control, the reprocessing will focus on key down-dip plays within the Miocene and Upper Cretaceous–Paleogene intervals, unlocking new opportunities for hydrocarbon discovery and development.
