VSB France, the French subsidiary of VSB Group, which operates across Europe, has inaugurated the Bosjean wind farm in the Puy-de-Dôme department in central France together with representatives of the municipality of Saint-Sulpice. With the new wind farm, VSB is strengthening its presence in the French market and further expanding its wind energy portfolio.

The Bosjean wind farm consists of six Vestas V110 wind turbines with a total capacity of 12.8 MW. Annual electricity production is estimated at 24 GWh. This corresponds to the annual electricity consumption of more than 12,000 people and avoids around 7,800 tonnes of CO2 per year. With Bosjean, VSB France now has two wind farms in the Puy-de-Dôme department, which together generate 102 GWh of renewable electricity per year and avoid 30,000 tonnes of CO2 annually.

VSB France developed and built the Bosjean wind farm and is also responsible for its technical and commercial management. During the construction phase, VSB France relied on cooperation with local and regional companies. These include TP Lyaudet for earthworks, OT Engineering for civil engineering and Cégelec for the grid connection. CIC Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIC CIB) supported VSB in financing the project.

The wind farm is also equipped with a patented next-generation 3D bird detection system. The system was supplied by European partner BIOSECO and supports the protection of avifauna during operation.

'What makes Bosjean particularly special to me is the way we have worked together: with local companies, the municipality and financing partners on site. This is exactly how we understand project development at VSB – as a project that generates renewable energy while also keeping value creation in the region. For VSB, this is part of our commitment as a responsible project developer,' says Dr Felix Grolman, CEO of the VSB Group.

'I am very pleased to inaugurate this new wind farm, which further strengthens our presence in the Puy-de-Dôme,' adds Maël Lagarde, Managing Director of VSB France. 'With the Bosjean wind farm, we now have two wind farms in this department, which together generate 102 GWh of electricity per year. This is a strong opportunity for the region to actively engage in the energy transition and make an important contribution to greater sustainability for future generations.'
