Exprodat, the energy sector GIS specialist and Getech Group company, has released a new version of its popular Unconventionals Analyst software, which is used by petroleum operators and financial institutions to manage shale oil and gas projects and investments.
At version 3.3, Unconventionals Analyst – an extension to Esri’s industry standard ArcGIS Pro desktop GIS application – builds on its already powerful functionality with a host of new capabilities designed to increase the productivity of its user-base of geoscientists, reservoir engineers and GIS professionals.
The latest version introduces several major upgrades across key workflows, led by enhancements to the popular Create Gun Barrel Plot tool. Users can now visualize lease boundaries, break out 2D spacing components and apply advanced customization to labels and geological intervals. With these upgrades, Unconventionals Analyst now offers the most comprehensive gun barrel tool on the market.
A new Modify Pads tool allows users to reposition pads and move associated wells in one step, streamlining editing. Enhancements to Create Well Sticks now enable better modelling of drained areas around existing wells using attribute-driven settings, while constraints can also be dynamically controlled using feature attributes.
The updated Calculate Lateral Spacing by Well tool now offers advanced filtering options, such as age-based and layer-specific comparisons, enabling users to generate more targeted spacing statistics and historical benchmarks to better inform production planning and analysis.
Richard Webb, GIS Software Product Manager at Exprodat, commented: 'We love getting feedback and requests from our user community and turning them into tools that deliver real competitive advantage. With Unconventionals Analyst 3.3, we’ve added greater precision, flexibility and control to the workflows our users rely on most. This release takes field development modelling and planning to a whole new level: faster, smarter and more intuitive than ever.'
