2024 was a transformative year for Wood’s carbon advisory team which secured a record-breaking number of wins in the past 12 months. With solutions being delivered across the globe, from Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia to Nova Scotia, Thailand and the UK, the team are building a global footprint to meet increasing demand from Wood’s international portfolio of clients.
In the Middle East, the team have been supporting a national oil company in its bid to participate in the International Civil Aviation Organization’s Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme, certifying the production of its sustainable aviation fuel, delivering a multi-million-dollar emissions baselining and decarbonisation mapping scope, and supporting the world’s first-ever eco-city by identifying further opportunities for emissions savings as part of a broader decarbonisation roadmap.
Other global wins include detailing opportunities for Nova Scotia’s industrial sector to adopt green hydrogen as its main source of power to support the region as it progresses towards its net zero ambitions.
Growing demand for our carbon advisory service comes as little surprise to Wood’s leadership team, who have witnessed increasing numbers of clients interested in discovering their true carbon footprint. The company’s Executive President for Consulting, Azad Hessamodini, commented on this trend, saying 'As the world strives to balance the demand for energy and the need to reduce emissions in a long-lasting manner, it’s vital we work with our clients to understand the full picture of their emissions profile to develop pragmatic solutions to reduce emissions through cost-effective that can be verified.'
Over the past 12 months, the team has expanded with several new appointments to support its increasing number of successes. The team now comprises 40 members.
