India: Bourbon's new subsea vessel Evolution 810 begins its first operations offshore India

09 Aug 2026

Bourbon Evolution 810, the latest in the Bourbon Evolution 800 series, is starting its first long-term contract off the Indian coast. Designed for deepwater operations, this vessel strengthens the Group’s IMR (Inspection, Maintenance and Repair) fleet and supports Bourbon's customers in their complex Subsea operations.

In an IMR segment characterized by an aging global fleet and low renewal rates, the arrival of this vessel from the GPA 696 series marks a new milestone in the development of the Group’s IMR fleet. It enables BOURBON to offer a modern, versatile vessel that meets today’s technical standards and operational requirements.

Integrated services designed for Subsea

The Bourbon Evolution 800 series, recognized for their deepwater capabilities, are designed for operations at depths of 2,500 / 3,000 meters.

The Bourbon Evolution 810 retains the key features of its sisterships while incorporating updates to the DP 3 dynamic positioning system, propulsion control, and power generation management. In addition to the DP system, the vessel is equipped with state-of-the-art reference systems.

To perform complex subsea operations, the vessel offers fully integrated services, including ROV operations, surveying, and construction services. It is equipped with two active heave compensated cranes with lifting capacities of 40 & 150 tonnes, that cover the entire deck, enabling the safe and accurate handling of subsea equipment and structures, even in rough sea conditions.

Its deck, which measures approx. 1,200 m² (including 230 m² of mezzanine space), offers ample storage capacity, allowing it to store diving equipment. It is also fitted with firefighting and oil spill response capabilities.

The vessel is thus capable of carrying out a wide range of missions.

A working environment designed for long-term operations

The vessel has been designed to accommodate up to 105 people in 69 cabins. Because a ship’s operational performance also depends on the quality of life on board, the vessel's layout facilitates flow between the bridge, deck, workshops, and operations control areas, enhancing safety, coordination, and responsiveness. It is also equipped with the latest satellite communication systems, providing high bandwidth for the crew’s work and leisure activities.

'With the entry into service of Bourbon Evolution 810, we are providing our customers with an IMR vessel, capable of meeting the technical challenges of deepwater operations, while offering our teams a safe and suitable working environment. This new vessel also illustrates our commitment to sustainably enhancing our fleet to meet market needs' said Stephan Midenet, Chief Operating Officer, BOURBON.
