INPEX has announced that it will supply RD40, a fuel consisting of 40 percent renewable diesel (RD) blended with conventional diesel, that will be used in part to power snow groomers and other course maintenance vehicles at two major snowboard halfpipe competitions to be held in Sapporo, Japan.
The RD40, which can be used by diesel-powered vehicles without modification, offering enhanced operational flexibility, will be supplied through INPEX’s wholly owned subsidiary INPEX JAPAN, LTD., to support the following events:
- International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) Snowboard World Cup Halfpipe 2026 Sapporo (Ban-K)
- Ski Association of Japan (SAJ) 32nd All Japan Ski Championships Snowboard Halfpipe
Both events will be held at Sapporo Bankei Ski Area in Chuo-ku, Sapporo.
The RD40 to be supplied for these events is manufactured domestically by ITOCHU ENEX CO., LTD.
By supplying RD40 to both events, INPEX aims to contribute to the reduction of environmental impact associated with the operation of winter sports events. Going forward, INPEX will continue to promote the wider adoption of renewable fuels, with a view to expanding the supply of low-carbon fuel for vehicles and equipment used at events and other applications.
