The leadership of the national company conducts weekly inspections of the construction progress at the Kashagan Gas Processing Plant, which will have an annual capacity of 1 billion cubic meters. Currently, the workforce has increased to 1,260 personnel, with more than 200 pieces of equipment deployed on-site.
Special attention is given to safety measures, with qualified HSE specialists engaged and a dedicated fire safety organization mobilized on the construction site.
Current Construction and Installation Status:
- Seven absorption columns have been installed at the sulfur treatment unit (each weighing between 50 and 170 tons);
- Three sections of the smokestack have been installed at the sulfur recovery block, along with storage tanks and pumps for the heat carrier, instrumentation air, and nitrogen supply units;
- A total of 2,177 tons of process equipment has been installed;
- Welding works for tank assembly are ongoing. So far, 2,520 tons of metal structures have been installed, over 12,000 meters of underground piping have been laid, and more than 38,000 cubic meters of concrete have been poured.
The construction of the Kashagan GPP is progressing on schedule. Work has been accelerated, and additional resources have been mobilized to ensure timely project completion.
Once completed, the project is expected to increase the country’s commercial gas reserves by 727 million cubic meters per year, produce 115,500 tons of gas motor fuel and feedstock for organic synthesis (LPG), 17,000 tons of stable gas condensate for petrochemical industries, and 218,500 tons of granulated sulfur annually.
