Vattenfall and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), through their joint venture Zeevonk, have awarded a contract to DEME for the transport and installation of foundations for phase 1 of the Zeevonk offshore wind farm in the Dutch North Sea.
Under the contract, DEME will be responsible for intermediate transport of monopiles, marshalling services for primary and secondary steel, plus transport and installation of 69 monopile foundations as well as the installation of a filter layer for scour protection. The project remains subject to a final investment decision.

The works will be carried out using several vessels from DEME’s fleet, including the offshore installation vessel Orion for monopile installation, supported by a jack-up vessel for secondary steel and a fallpipe vessel for scour protection.
About Zeevonk
Covering an area of 650 sq km, the Zeevonk project will be located in front of the Dutch North Sea coast, between 63 and 84 km away from the coastal town of Bergen aan Zee. The project is divided in two stages. Phase 1 delivers 1 GW of offshore wind by 2029. Phase 2 follows in 2032, adding another 1 GW of wind and 500 MW of system integration capacity. This includes the development of an electrolyser in the Port of Rotterdam to enable green hydrogen production. Zeevonk is co-owned by Vattenfall and CIP through its Energy Transition Fund I.
