FourPhase, the solids and production performance specialist for the oil and gas sector, has successfully completed a jetting operation of a production separator on the Aker BP-operated Alvheim production vessel (FPSO).
The project marks the first time Aker BP has utilised a temporary jetting unit to remove solids on Alvheim.
To facilitate a well-test operation on Alvheim, Aker BP would typically flow back the well to a production separator, running the risk of filling it and systems downstream with solids. Instead, FourPhase deployed its state-of-the-art stand-alone SingleFlow jetting unit to remove solids from the separator. Solids were then directed to skips for secure onshore disposal.
FourPhase has produced a compact (1x1m) unit that creates a minimal logistical footprint and improves the ergonomics offshore. In this case, the jetting operation removed solids before entering the closed drain system, thus eliminating the need to remove solids further downstream. Deploying Fourphase’ SingleFlow jetting unit for less than a week enabled Aker BP to empty the production separator from solids.
Pål Hapnes, Asset Production Manager - Alvheim, said: “We trusted FourPhase with the solids management scope and are very happy with the execution their team delivered both on and offshore.”
Even Solsvik, Project Manager at Fourphase, commented: “We’re proud to have once again assisted Aker BP with optimising their operations.”
FourPhase has operations across Europe, the US, the Caspian, and Asia Pacific and has offices in Bergen, Aberdeen, Kuala Lumpur and Houston.
