Norclamp, the specialist in high-performance clamps for subsea pipeline integrity has announced the launch of the Infinity Clamp, a groundbreaking solution that addresses critical sealing issues for extended pipeline lengths. In an industry-first, this modular clamp offers unlimited extensions through an interlocking design, providing a scalable, cost-effective alternative for subsea pipeline maintenance.

The Infinity Clamp, designed specifically for aging subsea pipelines, extends the lifespan of pipelines for decades, helping operators manage integrity challenges more efficiently. With growing risks of internal corrosion and pipeline wall degradation, this solution offers operators a quick, diver-installed method to seal and secure damaged pipeline sections. Multiple Infinity Clamps can be applied consecutively to address longer pipeline sections, with each additional clamp seamlessly forming a continuous seal thanks to Norclamp's patented packer technology.

Market-Driven Innovation

'The robust growth in the pipeline services market, buoyed by aging infrastructure and regulatory mandates for safety and environmental protection, drove Norclamp to design the Infinity Clamp. We recognized a clear market gap in solutions that could scale with extended pipeline lengths while minimizing both cost and environmental impact,' said Adrian Gamman, Chairman of the Board at Norclamp. 'By enabling modular extensions, operators can maximize pipeline integrity with minimal disruption to production—an essential advantage in today’s competitive landscape.'

Reducing Costs and Environmental Impact

As industries strive toward Net Zero 2050 goals, preserving existing infrastructure becomes critical. The Infinity Clamp helps to support these goals in several ways:

  • Ensures pipeline integrity, avoiding corrosion and leaks
  • Reduces emissions and costs by expanding the lifetime of the existing pipeline
  • Emission reduction in production built into design principles

In partnership with Terravera Foundation and Climate Advisor AS, Norclamp conducted a digital twin analysis of the product value chain to ensure verified data and correct decision basis. So far, results show:

- 27% reduction in emissions per clamp

- 33% reduction in steel consumption

These sustainability improvements align with industry trends toward greener solutions while offering cost savings to operators in terms of material usage and lower emissions footprints.

Supporting Future Energy Transitions

As the industry prepares for the energy transition, the Infinity Clamp positions Norclamp to play a crucial role in converting existing pipeline infrastructure for carbon capture, transport, and storage (CCS), as well as future hydrogen distribution. This technology is essential for supporting decarbonization efforts and aiding operators in meeting environmental and regulatory targets.
