Wood has been awarded a new contract by Equinor to provide lifecycle information (LCI) services across nearly 100 assets in Norway, including offshore installations, subsea sites and onshore plants, helping improve data quality, operational efficiency and decision making across the energy company’s asset portfolio.
Under the three-year agreement, Wood will manage technical information updates, maintain LCI records and oversee data within Equinor’s System for Technical Information and Documentation (STID) platform.
As part of the contract, Wood will deploy a newly developed work management system designed to streamline technical information management and engineering workflows. The digital solution improves transparency and traceability, reduces manual effort and shortens lead times for change requests, while creating a foundation for future AI-enabled capabilities. Together, this work will help ensure critical technical information remains accurate, accessible and actionable throughout the asset lifecycle.
System for Technical Information and Documentation
The (System for Technical Information and Documentation) STID is Equinor’s authoritative source for technical documentation, tags and equipment data, asset and facility information and life-cycle information for plants, wells and equipment.
STID is part of Equinor’s LCI (Lifecycle Information) landscape and is used throughout the entire asset lifecycle from engineering and projects to operations and decommissioning.

The work will be delivered by around 35 existing and newly hired Wood employees based in Norway, supported by the company’s global engineering network.
The award builds on Wood’s long-standing relationship with Equinor. Most recently, Wood secured two five-year frame agreements to provide maintenance and modifications services and larger modifications projects across installations on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS) and associated onshore plants. In 2025, Wood was also awarded a $27 million engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract infrastructure upgrades at the Snorre field.
