Further to previous disclosure dated October 01, 2025 regarding the gas-condensate discovery at Bitrism East-1 exploratory well in Lower Goru Formation (Massive and Basal Sands), Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) is pleased to announce that the well has successfully been brought into production.
The well is currently producing 7.0 MMSCFD of gas and 200 barrels of condensate per day from the Basal Sands. Production is expected to be progressively ramped up as the well flow stabilizes.
In line with its strategy of accelerating the monetization of new discoveries, OGDCL has utilized its in-house resources to lay an approximately 28-kilometre, 8-inch flowline connecting the well to Sinjhoro Plant for processing. The processed gas is now being supplied to SSGCL network, augmenting indigenous gas supplies.
Bitrism East-1 is located in District Khairpur, Sindh Province. OGDCL is the operator of Bitrism Exploration Licence with a 77.5% working interest, in joint venture with Government Holdings (Private) Limited (GHPL), which holds the remaining 22.5% working interest. The commencement of production from Bitrism East-1 reflects OGDCL's continued focus on bringing new discoveries into production, enhancing domestic hydrocarbon supplies and contributing to Pakistan's energy security.
