Bill Wilks and Helen Bone are looking forward to representing Merlin Energy Resources at African Energy Week on 29th September to 3rd October 2025 in Cape Town, South Africa. The event brings together attendees who are invested in the future of the African energy industry including Minsters from across the continent. Merlin has provided subsurface support to numerous African organisations, currently including companies in Nigeria and Côte d'Ivoire. Projects include technical investment support, exploration workflows, field redevelopment assessments and support for seismic & drilling campaigns as well as acreage commercialisation.
Helen and Bill enjoyed their visit to Cape Town last year, particularly the warm welcome they received from indigenous companies. This year they look forward to building on these existing relationships and forging new connections.
One topic that was particularly interesting in 2024 was learning about innovative ways in which companies are ensuring energy access across Africa against a backdrop of climate change and the need for a ‘just transition’. It will be interesting to hear how this work is developing, along with the other topics for discussion at the conference which include investment into African energy projects, oil & gas projects from exploration to production and decarbonisation projects, including nuclear and hydrogen.
Bill and Helen look forward to connecting with colleagues across Africa during their visit to Cape Town. Please get in touch if you would like to arrange a meeting in advance: info@merlinenergy.co.uk.
