Avangrid, a leading energy company and member of the Iberdrola Group, has announced that it has surpassed 500 Megawatts (MW) in energy generation infrastructure fully installed or energized so far in 2026, helping to meet the nation’s growing power needs while contributing to local and regional economies across the country.

The milestone reflects progress across Avangrid’s growing portfolio, including projects that have connected to the grid and several that met significant construction benchmarks.
Recently, Avangrid completed solar panel installation at its 57 MW Oregon Trail Solar project. Construction at the facility has supported about 100 skilled union jobs. Work continues at the site as crews prepare the project for energization and testing. When the site achieves commercial operation next year, Oregon Trail Solar will produce the same amount of electricity to power about 10,000 U.S. homes annually.
The progress at Oregon Trail Solar follows the completion of Tower Solar earlier this year in Morrow County, Oregon. Construction of the 166 MW project supported approximately 200 construction jobs, mostly filled by local union workers. The project also bolstered American manufacturing by utilizing solar panels assembled in the United States. Tower Solar is capable of producing the same amount of electricity to power about 27,000 U.S. homes each year.
Avangrid has also made significant progress at projects under construction – including the 153 MW Osagrove Flats project and 136 MW Juniper Canyon project.
As Avangrid’s portfolio grows, so does its energy production. During the first half of this year, Avangrid generated 13,891 Gigawatt-hours, an increase of 8 percent compared to the first half of 2025, reflecting the company’s strong operational performance and new capacity additions.
Avangrid operates nearly 100 energy generation projects across the country, capable of producing enough power for about 2.6 million U.S. homes and businesses annually.
