France: TotalEnergies files for authorization of its giant Centre Manche Energies offshore wind project
Eight months after being awarded the project by the French State, TotalEnergies’ wholly owned project company Centre Manche Energies has officially applied for the Single Authorization of the 1.5 GW offshore wind farm, which will be sited off the coast of Normandy. -

UK: SSE generates nearly £10bn for UK economy as it invests to strengthen the electricity system
Leading electricity infrastructure company SSE has delivered a record year of investment, spending £3.6bn in 2025/26 on strengthening the UK’s electricity grid, accelerating electrification and setting the UK on a path to lower energy bills for consumers. This saw SSE investing 60% more than it made in adjusted operating profit into building critical national infrastructure during the financial year. -

Norway: DeepOcean awarded subsea contracts by Equinor
Global ocean services provider DeepOcean has been awarded a significant subsea contract package by Equinor for multiple fields on the Norwegian continental shelf, including the Barents Sea, with offshore work spanning 2027-28. The contract package includes subsea work scope at the Visund field in the North Sea, the Johan Castberg field in the Barents Sea, and an option for potential work at the Snorre A subsea field in the North Sea. -

UK: European Energy enters the construction phase on hybrid solar and battery project in the United Kingdom
European Energy has commenced construction of the Indian Queens solar and battery project in Cornwall, advancing a renewable energy asset with integrated storage that has cPPA and CMC in the UK market. The project is scheduled to be grid-connected in the first half of 2027. -

Petro Matad, the AIM quoted Mongolian oil company, has provided an operational update. PetroChina has advised that the 2026 Oil Sales Agreement will be approved imminently. Production from Heron-1 and Gazelle-1 continues in line with forecast. Work is continuing on the 200MW Hybrid renewable energy project. -

SBM Offshore’s Seawater Intake Riser (SWIR) technology receives ABS Statement of Maturity
SBM Offshore announces that American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) has released the Statement of Maturity for its Seawater Intake Riser (SWIR) technology. Developed in collaboration with Shell, the SWIR technology features an innovative technique to pump colder seawater from approx. 700 meters below the ocean’s surface up to an FPSO’s topsides to be used for cooling purposes. -
