Germany: More wind power for the Rhenish lignite area - RWE commissions additional turbines at Wiedenfelder Höhe wind farm
RWE has completed the expansion of its Wiedenfelder Höhe wind farm in Bergheim in the Rhenish lignite area. Three new 5.7-MW wind turbines have recently started operating on the recultivated spoil tip of the former Fortuna-Garsdorf opencast mine, delivering a total of 17.1 megawatts (MW) to the grid. -

Gabon: Record Resources announces that a single Loba well could produce 5,000 bbl/d in Gabon; paving the way for 20,000 bbl/d development
Record Resources reports that further geological and geophysical study of the Loba oil discovery and nearby analogue fields in Gabon is suggesting that a first oil well there could produce 5,000 barrels of oil per day (bbl/d). Record’s planned Loba Marine 2 well is expected to flow at a rate above 5,000 barrels per day (bbl/d) assuming it is equipped with frac-pack and an ESP pump. -

Netherlands: Ecowende has installed the first of 52 wind turbines at its Hollandse Kust West wind farm offshore Netherlands
Ecowende has installed its first wind turbine, approximately 53 kilometres off the coast of IJmuiden. The installation was carried out by Van Oord using the advanced offshore installation vessel Boreas. It marks a historic milestone in the energy transition: a wind farm that sets a new ecological benchmark for offshore wind development in the North Sea. -

EDF power solutions has announced its early stage plans to develop the Nant y Maen Onshore Wind Farm, a proposed renewable energy project located east of Tregaron. Vestas adds new orders in Germany and the United Kingdom
Vestas has announced orders in Germany and the United Kingdom as part of its Q2 order intake. The 50 MW Erweiterung Ostermoor Nord project is located in Germany, with delivery planned to begin in Q2 2027 and commissioning scheduled to begin in Q2 2028. The undisclosed 45 MW project is located in the UK, with delivery planned to begin in Q1 2027 and commissioning scheduled to begin in Q4 2027. -

Solstad Offshore and SBM Offshore in partnership for a new installation vessel
