Offshore Energies UK and Step Change in Safety have announced the winners of this year’s exciting Offshore Safety Awards.
The event jointly organised by OEUK and Step Change in Safety, is designed to maintain and promote the highest professional standards in the offshore industry.
The winners were described as offering 'a truly inspiring display of forward thinking and safety driven professionalism'.
The award ceremony held at the Beach Ballroom, Aberdeen yesterday, was sponsored by Torus, an organisation at the forefront of the energy transition which is engaged in a variety of bespoke energy projects across generation, storage, clean hydrogen and renewables.
Derek Thomson chief operating officer at Nexos gave a keynote address on behalf of Torus, the company’s joint venture with Bilfinger UK.
He described the event as 'An insightful day, which I’m positive will have inspired everyone in the room to keep striving for zero incidents across our industry.'
2025 sees the introduction of a new Outstanding Contribution to Safety Award, with the inaugural honour going to Darren Sutherland, Borr Drilling.
