Independent renewable energy company Qair has announced the commissioning of the 13.5 MW Altenschlag wind farm in Germany. This new delivery consolidates Qair’s renewable energy footprint across Central and Eastern Europe and contributes to the region’s transition to a low-carbon future.
The Altenschlag wind farm is expected to generate 28 million kWh annually, providing green electricity to over 8,000 households. By displacing fossil fuel generation, it will prevent more than 12,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year, directly supporting the EU’s climate targets to cut emissions by 55% by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050.
Germany: a key pillar of Qair’s Multi-Local, Multi-Technology Strategy
Germany continues to play a central role in Qair’s long-term vision. With 53 MW of wind and solar capacity already in operation and a local team of over 100 dedicated professionals, Qair is rapidly expanding its market presence in the country. A 31 MW wind project is currently under construction and scheduled for commissioning this year, while an 11.4 MW wind farm and a 20 MW/44 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project are in advanced development.
A broader vision: Powering Central and Eastern Europe’s Clean Energy Future
The commissioning of the Altenschlag wind farm follows the recent launch of the Rokietnika solar farm in Poland, and the securing of a tariff for the first phase of a wind project in Romania, further cementing Qair’s momentum across Central and Eastern Europe. With a pipeline exceeding 6 GW of renewable projects in the region, the Group is on trajectory to achieve its global roadmap of 3 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2027.
