MedcoEnergi, through its subsidiary Medco E&P Natuna, has announced the successful first production from the Terubuk Well Head Platform (WHP) M Project in the South Natuna Sea Block B, which began on July 25. This project increases Terubuk's production capacity to 6,600 bopd of oil and 60 mmscfd of gas, contributing to MedcoEnergi’s ongoing support for national energy security and production targets.
This project also recorded the completion of topside fabrication within six months, well below the average offshore project duration of 10 - 12 months. All phases of the project were executed entirely by Indonesian talent, underscoring the nation's ability to deliver world-class solutions in the energy industry.
The Terubuk Project, which includes WHP-L and WHP-M, also recorded over 750,000 safe working hours without incident, affirming MedcoEnergi's commitment to the highest safety standards. WHP-M also integrates innovation and sustainability principles with the use of solar PV as a supporting energy source, as well as the implementation of Digital Microwave Radio and Integrated Control & Safety Systems for remote monitoring and control, to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
Director & Chief Operating Officer MedcoEnergi, Ronald Gunawan, stated, 'We appreciate the full support from the Government, SKK Migas, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, and all involved parties, which enabled WHP-M to reach the sail away and onstream stages in a relatively short time. The innovation in this project management sets a new standard for rapid, efficient, and sustainable marginal field development, and reflects the capabilities of our nation's talent in delivering energy projects.'
