Aukera has announced that Ledwyche Solar, a 12 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project located in Shropshire, has reached Commercial Operation and is now supplying electricity to the UK grid.
The project will generate enough renewable electricity to meet the equivalent annual demand of more than 5,500 local homes, adding new domestic generation capacity in support of the United Kingdom’s ambition to strengthen long-term energy resilience.
Ledwyche Solar forms part of Aukera’s UK solar construction programme for 2026, financed under the £135 million senior debt facility secured with Deutsche Bank and Rabobank. The facility supports a portfolio of five UK solar PV and BESS projects totalling approximately 250 MW, reinforcing Aukera’s ability to structure and deliver utility-scale renewable infrastructure at portfolio level.
Pascal Emsens and Catalin Breaban, Co-Founders of Aukera, said:
'The commissioning of Ledwyche Solar marks continued progress across our 250 MW UK solar portfolio. Advancing assets from origination through financing, construction and into operation reflects the structured, execution-led approach we apply across our projects. As this portfolio moves forward, it demonstrates our ability to convert development pipeline into operating infrastructure aligned with the UK’s energy priorities'.
