Enviromena has successfully signed an £825 million senior portfolio financing package, marking one of the largest solar financings in the UK this year and enabling a major expansion of its renewable energy platform.

The facility is underwritten by a leading syndicate of lenders, including BBVA, Intesa Sanpaolo (IMI CIB), Lloyds, NatWest and Societe Generale. An initial £525 million has been committed, providing immediate capital to support the rapid delivery of a 1GW solar pipeline across the UK.

This milestone represents a significant step forward for Enviromena, strengthening its ability to deliver projects at pace and at scale as demand for clean, domestically generated energy continues to grow.

Chris Marsh, CEO of Enviromena, said:

'This is a landmark transaction for our business and demonstrates strong momentum in our growth strategy. With this support, we are accelerating the transition from development to delivery, building a gigawatt-scale solar platform to supply homes, businesses, and support the UK’s energy transition.

'Importantly, this investment contributes directly to the UK’s net zero goals and the urgent need to scale low-carbon energy solutions. Rapid deployment of large-scale solar will be essential to meeting national targets, enhancing energy security, and reducing long-term costs for consumers.'

The £825 million financing is structured as a flexible platform financing with a £300 million uncommitted accordion, allowing it to expand alongside the portfolio as projects progress from late-stage development through construction and into operation.

Romain Py, Partner at Arjun Infrastructure Partners, added:

'We’ve been supporting Enviromena since 2017, a period in which the business has evolved into a national leader in renewable energy. This new financing package will enable the firm to continue its impressive growth trajectory.'

With projects ready to advance and funding in place, Enviromena is well positioned to continue playing an important role in the UK solar sector, bringing new capacity online and supporting the evolution of the country’s energy mix.

Perella Weinberg acted as exclusive financial advisor to Enviromena.

Travers Smith acted as Borrower Counsel and Eversheds Sutherland as Lender Counsel.
