European Energy has divested the operational 15 MWac Trinity Hall Solar Farm in Bedfordshire, UK, marking the project’s transition to long-term ownership following development, construction and commissioning.

– European Energy has divested Trinity Hall Solar Farm, a 15 MWac solar park in Bedfordshire, to AlphaReal, a specialist real assets investment manager.

– The project reached commercial operation earlier this year and is supported by a long-term power purchase agreement, providing contracted revenues under its new ownership structure.

– The transaction reflects European Energy’s business model of developing, constructing and operating renewable energy projects before bringing in long-term investors, while supporting continued investment in the UK’s energy transition.

European Energy has completed the sale of Trinity Hall Solar farm, a 15 MWac solar park in Bedfordshire, United Kingdom, to Elm Solar Holdings Limited, an entity established for funds managed by Alpha Real Capital LLP.

The divestment forms part of European Energy’s business model of developing, constructing and operating renewable energy projects before bringing in long-term owners and investors to support the next phase of asset ownership and operation. European Energy will continue to provide Asset Management services to the solar park.

'Trinity Hall Solar Farm is an example of the projects European Energy develops through the entire value chain, from project development and permitting through to construction and operation,' said Jens-Peter Zink, Deputy CEO at European Energy.

'With construction completed and the facility now operational, the project is ready for its next phase under new ownership.'

Located in Bedfordshire, Trinity Hall Solar Farm was energised earlier this year and is expected to contribute renewable electricity to the UK energy system for decades to come. Construction began in the second half of 2025.

The project reflects the continued growth of solar energy within the United Kingdom and the increasing role of long-term power purchase agreements in supporting the deployment of new renewable generation capacity. Offtake from the park is covered by a corporate PPA.

The transaction demonstrates continued investor interest in operational renewable energy assets with contracted revenues. As renewable energy infrastructure becomes an increasingly established asset class, completed projects supported by long-term offtake arrangements continue to attract institutional capital seeking exposure to energy transition investments.

Throughout the development and construction of the solar park, European Energy engaged with local stakeholders and communities in the surrounding area. As part of that commitment, European Energy UK established the Trinity Hall Solar Farm Community Benefit Fund.

The fund was created to recognise the company’s long-term role in local communities and to support initiatives that contribute to community well-being. Through the fund, local organisations and community groups can apply for support that benefits residents in the area surrounding the solar farm.

The completion of Trinity Hall Solar Farm adds to European Energy’s track record of developing, financing, constructing and divesting renewable energy projects across Europe. The company continues to expand its portfolio of renewable energy developments in the United Kingdom, where increasing demand for low-carbon electricity is driving investment in new generation capacity and supporting the country’s energy transition objectives.

Nordea provided financing for the project. Burges Salmon acted as legal adviser to European Energy on the transaction.
