Goodtech has announced the award of a pre-feed study by Green Volt Offshore Windfarm, set to be Europe’s first commercial-scale floating wind farm. Green Volt is a joint venture between the offshore wind developers Vårgrønn and Flotation Energy.

When completed, Green Volt will provide up to 560 MW of renewable energy capacity. The project will deliver electricity to oil and gas platforms, replacing power currently generated by gas and diesel turbines. Green Volt will also provide electricity to the UK grid.

The aim of the study is to ensure the successful implementation and operation of the offshore wind farm, while prioritizing the needs of the end-users and maintaining a robust and secure IT/OT infrastructure. Goodtech will leverage its market leading experience within digitalisation in offshore wind by advising on digital strategy, cyber security and data management.

Goodtech's extensive experience in renewable energy projects and the commitment to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions have been key factors in securing this contract.

The pre-feed study is expected to commence immediately. Goodtech will work closely with the Green Volt team to ensure timely and efficient delivery of the project. As the most progressed commercial-scale floating wind farm in Europe, Green Volt is uniquely positioned to kickstart the floating offshore wind industry in Europe.
