The legal and commercial community will once again meet at Ardoe House Hotel in Aberdeen on Thursday 25th September 2025 for the annual OEUK Legal Conference.

The conference opens with a keynote speech from OEUK’s Supply Chain and People Director, Katy Heidenreich, followed by a programme comprising a dynamic mix of thought leadership, case law analysis, and interactive discussion.

The rapidly evolving artificial intelligence (AI) landscape will feature prominently in the conference agenda. With AI setting the pace for rapid change, the event focuses on topical issues and how they affect the legal community.

Principal Sponsor Clyde & Co will present on projects and risk in the offshore energy sector touching on indemnity provisions, dispute proofing energy projects and the different approach to standard contracts in the offshore construction sector.

Tom Roberts, Partner, Clyde & Co, said: 'This is always a great event, and it is a pleasure for Clyde & Co to support it. In today’s climate, managing risk is more important than ever, and our leading energy  experts look forward to discussing this and other issues with key industry players.'

Mark Wilson, OEUK’s HSE & Operations Director, will chair an interactive discussion exploring the evolving landscape of cyber threats and how organisations can effectively prepare for and respond to cyber incidents.

In addition, the conference agenda will also include:

  • Joint ventures
  • Cyber risk and managing cyber incidents
  • Anticipating the risk of a change in law impacting commercial contracts
  • Case law snapshots

Commenting, OEUK’s Legal Manager, Tracey Keith said:

'The conference is a key date in the offshore energy sector’s legal and commercial calendar, bringing together over 150 professionals from across the UK. This year we have David Lewis KC and Michael Ashcroft KC from Twenty Essex. It’s an invaluable opportunity to network and engage in discussions with colleagues at the leading edge of the profession.(2)

The one-day conference will conclude with a dinner featuring retired industry specialist Judith Aldersey-Williams, who will share insights from 25 years’ experience as a lawyer advising energy industry clients in the UK and internationally on commercial contracts.
