The North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) has published three new sets of documents intended to help carbon storage licensees save time and resources when dealing with CS requirements and approvals.
The three documents are focused on the safe, effective and transparent delivery of carbon storage projects across the UK Continental Shelf, and outline expectations for the scope and content of three plans required under a Carbon Dioxide Storage Permit – Storage Site Management Plans (SSMPs), Commissioning Plans, and Metering & Measurement Plans.
Together, these guidance documents provide greater clarity on operational requirements and support a consistent approach to CCS project delivery.
These documents are the latest additions to a suite of useful information created, with early and constructive engagement from industry during road-testing, to support the UK’s growing carbon storage sector with clear guidance to help projects progress to first injection safely and efficiently.
