Pathfinder Clean Energy (PACE), a UK-headquartered international developer of utility-scale solar and battery storage projects, has secured planning permission for Wheatenhurst Solar Farm, a 49.5MW solar farm in Stroud District, Gloucestershire, after the Planning Inspectorate allowed its appeal.
Once operational, the 49.5MW solar farm will generate clean, renewable electricity for the UK grid, helping to reduce reliance on fossil-fuel generation and support the transition to a lower-carbon energy system.
Rob Denman, Managing Director at PACE, said: 'We welcome the Inspector’s decision, which recognises the clear need for new clean power and the careful work that has gone into designing Wheatenhurst to sit well within its landscape. We’re grateful to the landowners and members of the local community who supported the scheme throughout. This decision follows the energisation of Attleborough Road and Three Bridges in Norfolk this summer, and further strengthens our growing portfolio of permitted clean infrastructure across the UK.'
PACE is advancing a pipeline of clean infrastructure projects across the UK and its international markets.
